Welcome to "ASIABIRD.COM", a web site depicting pictures and video clips of birds, mainly from SE Asia, especially Malaysia and Singapore.
The pictures were captured originally on video (mini-DV). I used mainly the Canon system; I started with a Canon XL-1 with attached 100-400 mm f/4.5-5.6 Canon USM IS or EF 70-200 mm f/2.8 Canon USML lens, with a 1.6X extender. Now I use mainly the Canon XLH1 mounted on a Gitzo G1548 with G1380 video head. The system was mounted on a Sachtler DV-4 tripod initially.
For those of you who wish to enjoy the pleasure of bird-watching, join us in the Nature Society (Singapore), or the Malaysian Nature Society. Books and equipment may be obtained at Nature's Niche in Singapore (shops in the Botanic Gardens Visitor's Centre or the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve Visitor's Centre) or the MNS in Kuala Lumpur.
